In this Step Into the Circle podcast, our own Governance Goddess Margi Hoffman shares her radically empowered, creative, sacred approach to governance and impacting our political system, as well as her own journey to activism, and her perspective of the political world right now, from the inside. Margi’s story is a testament to the power of one person, and in turn, the power of the collective.
Margi Hoffmann is a woman warrior. She has been a grassroots organizer, lobbyist, and, most recently, served as the energy and climate advisor to two Oregon governors. She has born witness to, and participated in, the collective shadow as it expresses itself in politics.
She turned her focus to healing herself, surrendering with love to the light and dark within. Her teacher is the Great Mother. Wolf packs. Great eagles. Water. Agave cacti. Gravity. Expansive landscapes. Caves. Energy. Stars. Full moons. Howling. The source. Sage brush. Cardinal directions. Sacred smoke. Sweat. Breath. Ice sheets on the walls of a tent at sunrise. Oneness. Connection.
In service to the community, she draws out the warrior women, the women who are called to lead, to protect the tribe, to hold the space in which others can heal the earth. She feels the structure of governance is important. And, it is a space held by human beings. The more whole we can be, the more available we are to be of service, to hold a strong lineage in our collect.
Leslie Frame-Crowley is a WisdomWomen Founding Member who believes in the power and necessity of sacred storytelling. Coming from a family with a strong tradition of story, and of understanding and connecting to the of the lives of her ancestors through genealogical study handed down from generation to generation, she connected very early on the the power, the fun, and the importance of story; our own stories, and our shared story. This calling has led her to the stage as an actor and to develop a love of writing. Step Into the Circle is a reflection of Leslie’s love of story. She believes that as we share our stories, our dreams, and our work, and as we celebrate other women as they do the same, connections are made, resources are shared, and creative hearts are nourished.
