The Kind of Community we are
We acknowledge that diversity is achieved through actively inviting perspectives and cultures that are different than our own. We take responsibility to educate ourselves about diversity. We actively nurture a place of belonging where every voice matters.
PIONEERING SPIRIT –
We are all pioneers and students of birthing the new paradigm. We are here to be of service to this collective vision. This is not a space to be a teacher or expert, but rather a place to experience sisterhood.
We commit to birthing the new, not changing the old, and not birthing the new using the old ways of creating. We understand that this has never been done before and we accept the messiness, confusion, and tensions of birthing.
We give as we are called and able to give in time, money, energy, etc. We trust that we can receive in unimaginable ways and that reciprocity does not have to be linear, and bears many forms.
The Qualities of our Community
All parts of ourselves are invited into this community.
We do what we say we are going to do. We acknowledge and mitigate the effects of ways we fail to honor our commitments and seek to change behaviors that prevent us from honoring our commitments.
We commit to being of service to the collective and trust that we will receive what we need in return. We abide by the concept that when you feed the Mother, everyone gets fed. We trust that our deep needs will be met when we are of service to this collective vision, and compassionately surrender our egoic or fear-based needs in the process.
Our Practices to be in Community
We have done transformational work before joining this community, which allows us to honor these community values. We commit to continuing our inner work so that we can be of service to this space. We believe that we cannot and do not need to be fully healed in order to be in true sisterhood and live our purpose.
COLLECTIVE & PERSONAL WOUNDS –
We understand that our traumatized culture has wounded all of us. Our personal wounds are not just ours, and there is not something wrong with us. The liberation and sharing of our issues and conflicts is a gift that heals our traumatized culture and our community.
When a conflict or tension arises, we understand that there is a reason it is showing up for us and we are being called to heal something for the collective. We compassionately meet the places that need our attention, and take responsibility for our triggers or our part in creating tensions. We seek support and reflection from our community members to ensure we are honest with others and ourselves. We show up for others in this healing process.
We offer reflections from our own embodied and lived learning experiences rather than teach or coach each other. We stay present to each other’s experiences. We do not need to fix each other. We trust that we are the experts of our own process and support each other in accessing our own inner wisdom rather than trust anybody outside ourselves for the information we seek.
We commit to the inner and relational work necessary to move away from ‘the story of separation’, and understand that this story shows up as divisiveness, polarization, ‘othering’, blame/shame/guilt, and victim-perpetrator-hero dynamics. If we demonstrate such behaviors, we commit to bringing the situation and ourselves to wholeness.
We understand that we are each responsible for creating this community in the way we want it to be. If there is something we do not like or we think could be improved in this community, we participate in co-creating it, or we accept the way things are.
PROFESSIONAL TREATMENT –
If we are someone who has a personality or mental health challenge or disorder, we actively seek treatment from qualified professionals. While our work together may be healing, this community is not intended to offer group or individual therapy and trauma support. We manage any individual health needs with the help of professionals.
