January 26-28, 2018
For our third annual women’s only property wide gathering, we will bring to life the ‘vision statements’ that were co-created in previous years. Over the weekend, we intentionally combine the gifts of Esalen’s communal structures with the spirit of festival. Together, we will have the opportunity to experience a temporary village that represents the world we want to live within.
Example activities and experiments around our Visionary Council themes include:
Sacred Sexuality: A Womb Temple to deepen in sisterhood through our Bodies
Earth: Rituals of deep listening to the Great Mother + Explorations to collaborate with Indigenous Women
Intergenerational Community: Rites of Passage for the different stages of life – including for Girls & Young Women
The Arts: Singing, Dancing, and Creative Expression
Economics: New models around Reciprocity and Gifting
Health: A dedicated space to practice different modalities of well-being and healing
The Commons: Gathering as a whole group daily in ceremony, land honoring and celebration.
Come explore your radical visions and unique gifts in a wild experiment of sisterhood and community. We invite trailblazing, thought and heart leadership, and new paradigms.
Past attendees will organize the sessions as a community. We will invite the emergent wisdom of the women in attendance. We encourage the sharing of visions, resources and support for the physical creation of our collective visions beyond the gathering. WisdomWomen provides opportunities for attendees to connect before and beyond the weekend.
WisdomWomen requires participants to fill out this application before registering. We take the time to get to know our attendees and introduce them into the community. Our convener and facilitation team uses information gathered from surveys to co-create the gathering with the emergent wisdom of the women in attendance.
Some scholarship funds are available through Esalen for women who meet their criteria. After you have submitted an application, you may also apply for scholarship.
Girls & Young Women
For the first time, we invite girls ages 7+ to attend with their mothers, so they can contribute their wisdom to the vision of our future world through this forum. Girls under 15 can receive a reduced price for admission. Mention in your application if you plan to bring your daughter to receive additional information. The deadline for registering girls is January 5th.
Esalen is a place of pilgrimage, grounded in a wildly alive environment—the spectacular, unparalleled, convergence of mountains and water that is the Big Sur coastline. Learn more about Esalen, accommodations and pricing information here. View photos of the grounds and last year’s gathering here.
The role of conveners is to ensure every participant is a co-author of the experience.
